AmeriStaff Employment and Staffing Solutions is seeking an Electrical Technician for a manufacturing facility in Ridgeway, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive industrial electrical maintenance experience with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform electrical calibrations, repairs, and installations on industrial machinery and equipment.
Benefits of the Electrical Technician: - Pay: $37/hr.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Technician: - Perform electrical calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, controls, and electrical/electronic equipment in emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Specify, design, and install electrical circuits and/or instrumentation as needed to resolve equipment issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, including basic PLC and robotic communications and uploading/downloading programs.
- Respond to equipment issues involving air compressors, quench systems, exhaust systems, boilers, fan systems, and other plant equipment.
- Inspect production areas and equipment for electrical problems and assist with repairs as needed.
- Assist other maintenance technicians and production personnel with troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
- Utilize electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete required maintenance documentation and paperwork.
- Prioritize multiple maintenance needs while supporting production and equipment uptime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all plant and departmental safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Requirements for the Electrical Technician: - Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial instrumentation, controls, and electrical/electronic equipment.
- Ability to diagnose basic PLC and/or robotic communication issues.
- Ability to upload and download PLC programs.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime, call-ins, weekends, and flexible hours as business needs require.
- Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching overhead, and working in elevated or confined areas.
Education & Experience: - Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an industrial setting or experience as an Electrical Technician II with satisfactory performance.
- Two-year Community College degree, Technical Trade School certificate, Military Training, or equivalent formal education required.
- Education must be in an electrical, electronics, or related technical discipline.
