Description: 

AmeriStaff Employment and Staffing Solutions is seeking a Customer Project Manager for a client in Danville, VA. The Customer Project Manager will be responsible for managing new customer onboarding projects and product development initiatives while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience within a manufacturing environment and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities of the Customer Project Manager

Manage customer onboarding and product development projects from initiation through commercial launch.

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the project execution phase.

Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements to ensure successful project completion.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including Sales, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and New Product Development.

Schedule and coordinate production trials, testing activities, and tooling development.

Coordinate sample production, verification, tracking, and shipment to customers.

Communicate project status updates to customers and internal teams.

Identify potential project risks and proactively resolve issues to maintain timelines.

Maintain accurate project documentation including specifications, timelines, approvals, and project updates.

Support Sales during technical qualification phases and assist with customer meetings when needed.

Conduct post-project reviews and identify opportunities for process improvements.


Requirements for the Customer Project Manager

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required.

Minimum four (4) years of project management or project coordination experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Strong organizational and project planning skills.

Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and packaging specifications preferred.

Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar software preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Preferred Qualifications

PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification preferred.

Six Sigma or process improvement certification preferred.

Experience in packaging manufacturing or product development environments preferred.

Background in beauty, cosmetics, or personal care packaging industries is a plus.
