AmeriStaff is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician in the Roxboro, NC area for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing client. This position works a 12-hour rotating schedule on a 2/2/3 shift rotation. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform welding and fabrication work using blueprints and drawings.
• Perform preventative maintenance duties and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Install and align motors, couplings, and bearings.
• Perform precision alignment and laser alignment on pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Rebuild cylinders and valves as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Follow all company safety rules and regulations.
• Work scheduled and on-call overtime as needed.

Requirements of the Maintenance Technician:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and precision alignment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience working with large industrial machinery preferred.
• Technical school or equivalent mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at substantial heights.
• Ability to work with oils, greases, solvents, and cleaning solutions.
• Ability to use cranes, forklifts, ladders, welding equipment, and hand tools.

Work Environment:

• Industrial mill/manufacturing environment subject to weather extremes.
