Responsibilities of the CDL Yard Driver:

• Safely operate trucks to move and jockey trailers and containers throughout the freight yard.
• Position and switch trailers and containers as needed to support daily shipping and receiving operations.
• Operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine safety checks before operating vehicles and report any equipment concerns.
• Assist in the Receiving Department when not actively moving or switching trailers.
• Load, unload, move, and organize materials as needed within the receiving area.
• Lift and handle materials weighing 50+ pounds.
• Follow all company, DOT, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized freight yard and receiving area.
• Perform other driving, receiving, and warehouse duties as assigned.

• Requirements of the CDL Yard Driver:

  • Must have a valid CDL Class A or Class B license.
  • Must have experience operating manual transmission trucks.
  • Previous professional truck driving or yard jockey experience is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable moving and positioning trailers and containers within a freight yard.
  • Must be willing to assist with Receiving Department duties when needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Must be dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
  • Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed.
